Meet Your Coaches

Emile Sawyer

My fitness journey began in high school, driven by a desire to overcome bullying due to my short stature, slender build, and accent. I discovered a bodybuilding magazine at a local supermarket, which inspired me to learn about workouts and that transformed my life.

After school, I'd go to the gym to work out. As I grew in size and strength, I felt more bad-ass and capable of overcoming obstacles, refusing to let the bullying bring me down.

The summer before my sophomore year, I joined the wrestling team after working out with my cousin. Despite initial reservations when I saw a former bully on the team, I persevered, attending every practice and eventually gaining confidence. I continued to push myself, attending free wrestling camps and working out tirelessly to improve my skills. During junior year, I finished with a 500 record in varsity wrestling, a testament to my hard work. I trained harder during senior year, but was briefly kicked out of school. I moved in with a friend, rejoined the team. My dedication and hard work showed each day in practice. I wrestled whoever didn’t have a partner regardless of weight class, I ran sprints as hard as I could and learned how to eat a balanced diet to stay in my weight class. The coaches noticed my work ethic and chose me as 1 of the captains. I finished my senior year with a second-place District finish and qualified for Regionals. 

After graduating from high school, I attended Bergen Community College for several months but financial reasons required me  to break after just a few months. In 2003, I began my fitness journey at Bally's Total Fitness, where I learned client training techniques from experienced coaches and managers and obtained a certification from NASM to expand my knowledge base.

My professional experience in the fitness industry spans multiple roles, including coaching, management, and business ownership, with my current fitness venture nearing its decade milestone. With a career spanning over two decades in the health and wellness sector, I have successfully guided hundreds of clients in establishing their optimal wellness routines.


I am sharing this story with you because we are all familiar with the difficulties that life can present, but by consistently pursuing growth and making incremental progress each day, transformational change can occur. Each individual's situation is different, but it is within everyone's power to modify their circumstances if they choose to do so. I encourage you to relish the journey and learn as much as possible. Achieving your aspirations doesn’t have to be a mad dash to the finish line, so take your time and do it correctly. A wisher approach will keep you from continuously starting over.
